I’ve been working like crazy to get the chatbot up and running. For now you can visit www.bigguywebdesign.com/chatbot to see the work in progress. It currently takes your input, searches a database for a match, and spits out the saved answer. While that might not be the most efficient way of doing things, it does garuntee that you will always get the intended answer, error free. Also, it logs every conversation it has both for liability and so when something comes it doesn’t know it can alert me and I can fill it in.

I added some basic info to the home page, nothing special. I’m also working on the chatbot’s code. Our host is crazy about security, which is great, but it’s keeping my php files from writing to the proper folders… so as soon as I figure out how to get around that we’ll be good to go.

So it’s been a few days since my last post, and that’s because I’m back on 3rd shift at my full time job… 12hr night shift pretty much makes you fall off the face of the earth when you work 4 nights back to back. Anyways, I’ve started to fill in the home page, something long over due, and there’s now several options to contact us. I intend to make the email addresses click over to a form in case users don’t have mailto links setup on their system.

There’s a nifty pricing page with a button that turns the page into a form for getting a quote, and Matt has managed to add that same ability to his flash applet (very cool). Matt has also added cartoon versions of the two of us and a mouse to the banner as well as our logo.

Only a little work left to do now besides the chatbot, and that will definately take some time.
